BIIN CARES
BIIN Cares is a program dedicated to meeting the emergent needs, specific to our local immigrant community. As immigration policies continue to change, our immigrant neighbors face unprecedented challenges; making the need for support and accessibility to resources vital to navigate the shifting landscape.

Please see below to read about our two current initiatives and how you can support our mission.
Helping Hands Fund
The Helping Hands Fund is born out of a deep commitment to support and uplift members of our immigrant community during difficult times. In light of recent ICE activities in our area, our goal is to provide compassionate assistance to those who may be affected—whether through financial instability, difficulty accessing essentials, or feelings of fear and uncertainty.
The Helping Hands Fund can offer financial support with rent assistance, bill assistance, and grocery (essentials) assistance. We also connect individuals and families to other resources in our community, who can directly assist by providing grocery delivery services. Our hope is to bring comfort, stability, and a sense of community to those who might be feeling vulnerable or uncertain, reminding everyone that they are not alone.
Each case for financial support is thoughtfully reviewed on an individual basis, taking into account specific circumstances, level of need, and proof of financial hardship. A dedicated committee carefully evaluates all applications to ensure that the funds are used appropriately and reach those who need it most. Our goal is to provide meaningful support with integrity, always prioritizing dignity and compassion for everyone we serve.

This fundraiser focuses on empowering individuals navigating the complexities of the immigration process during these challenging times.

In today's rapidly changing social and political climate, the need for support has never been more urgent. Many immigrants face increasing challenges and uncertainty regarding their legal status, access to resources, and safety. Your generosity will strengthen our efforts to provide critical legal aid and comprehensive support services during these challenging times.
Our dedicated BIIN volunteers offer a range of crucial services, including free notary assistance, translation and interpretation of official documents, assistance with applications to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and guidance on immigration and court-related questions; and free legal consultation. In addition to legal aid, we provide support to immigrants in need of vital community resources.
Your contributions will directly impact the lives of those we serve, ensuring they receive the assistance and advocacy they deserve. Each case is thoughtfully reviewed on an individual basis, taking into account specific circumstances, level of need, and proof of financial hardship. A dedicated committee carefully evaluates all applications to ensure that the funds are used appropriately and reach those who need it most.
Now, more than ever, standing together is essential. Together, we can champion the rights of immigrants and work toward a future filled with dignity, justice, and hope for all. Join us in making a difference!

BIIN CARES HISTORY
BIIN Cares was first launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many American citizens faced significant financial challenges during this time—and received relief through stimulus checks—our immigrant community did not have access to such support. However, thanks to the efforts of BIIN Cares, the program was able to raise funds to assist with bills and provide essential support to our immigrant neighbors.
The Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network reinstated the BIIN Cares program in August 2025 to continue serving our community—this time, to support local university students. Did you know that in June 2025,Texas Dream Act (2001) was repealed, forcing many Texas college students to confront uncertainty about their academic futures? The repeal of the Texas Dream Act created sudden increases in tuition—from in-state to out-of-state— just weeks before the start of the Fall semester for many students. As a response, the BIIN Cares Program was able to fundraise over $12,000 dollars and established the Fulfill the Dream Scholarship. The scholarship supported local Texas A&M students who experienced these sudden tuition changes. This repeal is just one example of the many policy changes targeting immigrant communities today.
Regardless of future policy changes, BIIN Cares remains committed to supporting and addressing the urgent needs of our immigrant neighbors. Donate today to help us continue providing vital aid when it’s needed most!
